We are hopeful that the presence of a web can publicize members' interest in a particular topic, device, program, or other endeavor.

This would include descriptions and contacts for any groups within the memberships.  Sub-groups of RBCC might be informal, include group discussions, sharing current activities.

The following are examples of subject/topics that some members already all involved with:

- Music / Midi

- Digital aids to photography

- Utilities for PCs, programs

- Other OSs: Linux, Ubutu, Mac

-  Multi-media

- Geocaching

There are several SIG groups in various stages of focus and affiliation around RBCCC.  A SIG could have more than one "parent" group to which they are affiliated.  For instance, a volunteer group wanting to serve as mentors to library patrons have common interests with RBCCC (us folk), the RBLibrary and Friends Of The Rancho Bernardo Library.

If you feel the entire membership might not have an interest in something you are keenly interested in, but you would like to form your own SIG, please feel free to contact our leaders or us webmasters (see below).

At this stage of web development, we don't have complete information on SIGs.  Although not necessarily the "official" contact of the group, we are including a "known member" of the group as follows:

SUBJECT: Recording Computer Literacy Lessons

Hank Drayton, a member of the Seniors Computer Group, has given several presentations as a guest speaker at the Rancho Bernardo Community Computer Club.

On Saturday morning, July 5, 2008 at 9:30 AM, he will give a presentation at Wesley Palms. It will include this topic: HOW TO RECORD A MINI-SEMINAR WITH CAMTASIA STUDIO AND PLAY IT LATER FOR THE AUDIENCE.

This system of recording short hands-on instruction onto a CD can be effective for adult computer literacy training at the RBCCC, OASIS, branch libraries, churches, senior centers, and other places where seniors congregate. Busy instructors can use this Record It Once – Show It Many Times system to relieve the boredom of repeating basic lessons again, and again, and again.

I will attend Hank’s presentation at Wesley Palms on July 5 and any member of the RB library staff and any member of the RBCCC is invited. I can provide transportation for 3 people to and from the event. Contact me at ppaulson@san.rr.com or (858) 673-4269 and I can pick you up in the RBL parking lot at 8:30 Saturday morning.

 Regards,

Paul Paulson ppaulson@san.rr.com
