Our speaker for the September meeting will be one of our newer members, Roger Wolfe. Roger will be speaking on the Use of Adobe Elements for editing and improving digital images. Topics will include resizing, cropping, editing, color-brightness-contrast correction, use of "layers" and more.

  Roger describes it this way:

Most people are aware that Adobe Photoshop is considered the “last word” in photo editing software.  They are also aware that it costs much more than the typical amateur photographer wants to pay.  However, there is program called Adobe Photoshop Elements that is much more modestly priced and contains many of the photo editing features found in the full blown Photoshop program.  This presentation will demonstrate many of these features and show how you can use them to “rescue” or improve many of your pictures.

If you have been using one of the many photo editing programs that exist, you are aware of how you can make many small adjustments to the color, brightness, sharpness, etc. of your photos, usually by just moving a slider.  But do you know that these changes can be applied to only part of your photo?  Do you know you can remove cracks and dust from old photos?  Can you replace a gray sky in a landscape picture with a blue one full of clouds?  Can you fix a badly underexposed photo?  Can you change a yellow car into a red car with only a few steps?  This presentation will demonstrate techniques for doing these things and more using Photoshop Elements.
